URGENT NOTICE RE SEATED DANCE AND MOVEMENT TO MUSIC
(Updated 10th January 2019)
Due to the ill health of our regular teacher, Seated Dance will NOT run on 9th and 16th January and Movement to Music will NOT run on 10th and 17th January.
Fortunately, we have found a qualified teacher to cover both classes until Natasha, our regular teacher, is well enough to come back to us. We will therefore be back in the Cedar Room at 10.15am on Wednesday, 23rd January for Seated Dance - refreshments from 10.15am with the class between 10.45-11.30am. We will also be in the Wheelhouse on East Lane for Movement to Music at 2.15pm on Thursday, 24th January with refreshments after the class finishes at 3pm. Classes will take place every Wednesday and Thursday thereafter until 20th and 21st February when we will have a break for half-term.
We are sorry for any inconvenience at the start of this term but hope that we will see everyone back in class soon.
THE WHEEL'S FOUR CLUBS
Please see "Our Clubs" and "News & Events" for information on our four clubs and when and where they operate. Alternatively, for more information about any of our clubs, please ring the Duty Officer on 01483 281703 (Monday-Friday 10am-noon).
All our clubs are open to all in West Horsley and neighbouring villages so you don't have to live in West Horsley to join in. No booking is required ... just turn up! Free transport to all our clubs is available for those living in the Horsleys, Effingham and Ockham - just ring the Duty Officer on 01483 281703 (Monday-Friday 10am-noon).
MESSAGE FROM A CLIENT
It is always lovely to hear from our clients! We recently received the following message from a client whom we have been helping for the past year or so:
"Many, many thanks to West Horsley Wheel of Care for organising so efficiently my car lifts to the Scrabble sessions and Film Club. It has made such a difference to my life this year when I have been unable to drive and enabling me to meet people and start a new pastime. Also, thanks for the cups of tea and delicious cake. Everything much appreciated."
THE QUEEN'S AWARD FOR VOLUNTARY SERVICE
It was announced on 2nd June 2015 that the Wheel of Care had been honoured with The Queen's Award for Voluntary Service, the highest award a voluntary group can receive in the UK and the equivalent of an MBE for voluntary groups. Please click on the link immediately below The Queen's Award for Voluntary Service logo to the right for a copy of the press release regarding this prestigious award.
SNOW/ICE AND THE CLUBS
If there is snow/ice on the ground, it is highly likely that all Wheel of Care clubs will be cancelled. If you are unsure whether a club is going ahead, please ring the Duty Officer on 01483 281703 (Monday-Friday 10am-noon).
Alternatively, please use the online Contact Form (on the "Contact Us" page) and we will respond to your enquiry as soon as we can.
