West Horsley Wheel of Care (known affectionately by many as "the Wheel") is here to help any person residing in the parish of West Horsley who is in need of assistance. We offer help, support, transport and activities which provide, exercise, companionship and friendship.
Whether you are new to the area or have lived here all your life, young or old, in need of regular assistance or occasional friendship, the Wheel aims to provide the help that people of West Horsley need. We all require a little help or companionship from time to time. Whether this is due to a temporary indisposition or advancing age is immaterial; we are here to help everyine in need whenever we can.
Although not able to implement an emergency service or replace carers, the Wheel's small army of local volunteers will collect prescriptions, do small DIY jobs, give lifts to the shops, surgery or hospital, read or fill in forms and come and have a chat with someone to give a carer a short break.
Further information is available on the pages of this website about how we can help or how to volunteer for the Wheel. Alternatively, please call the Duty Officer who will be happy to help, on:
Don't forget about our regular and friendly clubs too - a weekly Scrabble club and a weekly Seated Exercise class and a monthly Film Club. Please call the Duty Officer for further information and/or if you require assistance with transport to any of the clubs. Please note that you do not have to live in West Horsley to come - those living in neighbouring villages may also attend the clubs. Refreshments are served at all four clubs and you are ensured a warm welcome! Free transport to all our clubs is available for those living in the Horsleys, Effingham and Ockham - just ring the Duty Officer on the number above.
Alternatively, please use the online Contact Form (on the "Contact Us" page) and we will respond to your enquiry as soon as we can.
